Winslow's College Essay Counseling

I'm Winslow Solomon, a Yale College student from Richmond, Vermont. Besides my classes, I enjoy playing violin, exploring new places, reading, and photography.

This past year, I completed Yale's writing-intensive Directed Studies program, where one of my essays won the English Department's McLaughlin Memorial Prize for excellence in English composition. On the recommendation of my professors, I was hired by the Yale College Writing Center as a peer tutor for fellow college and graduate students. More recently, I began aiding high school students with college application writing. As someone recently in senior year of high school, I know the importance of having someone to guide you through the prompts, help you refine your ideas and your writing, and hold you accountable to deadlines. I am better than AI, I promise!

Besides the Common App and supplemental essays, I can help with polishing your activities/awards sections. I'm here to work on writing--I have no expertise to offer in relation to which colleges to apply to. Our process will vary depending on your needs. A combination of meetings (typically Zoom) and Google Docs comments is usually most effective. Please send me an email using the link below to set up an intro meeting (free) to talk through the process and make a plan! You can find my LinkedIn below.
