Personal guidance from a talented writer and experienced writing partner.
I'm Winslow Solomon, a Yale College student from Richmond, Vermont. I enjoy working with writers to make their work distinctive and convincing. At Yale, I’m a student in the writing-intensive Directed Studies program. On the recommendation of my professors, I was hired by the Yale College Writing Center as a peer tutor for other Yale students.
I see the college essay writing process as an opportunity to gain writing skills that will continue to be useful in and beyond college. Learning to reflect on your experiences and make an argument about yourself is a critical skill. Writing applications involves highlighting elements of your life that emphasize certain aspects of your character: in working with students, I focus on guiding them towards a narrative that feels genuine while showcasing what makes each of them special.
In my own experience, writing about myself has often been a painful process, and I’ve realized that the more I talk to others about my writing, the more successful I am. I find working with other writers fulfilling because I know the effect it can have, and it makes me a better writer myself. Besides helping you find and communicate your best ideas, I’ll work with you to create a timeline that feels comfortable and hold you accountable to the deadlines we set.
Your essay should sound unmistakably like you. We protect your voice at every revision.
